Kevin was born and raised in Chatham to parents, the late Hank and Helen Bruhlman.  As an honour student at John McGregor Secondary School he graduated in 1982 and attended University of Western Ontario for computer science then Sheridan College in Microcomputer Management.  Kevin was easily recognized in the city by his personalized license plate “CURSOR”.

As a student , Kevin worked in the family businesses; Maple City Laundry & Dry Cleaners and Chatham Computer Sales & Service Ltd.  He was the Traffic Manager at CKSY-FM from 1986 until his time of passing in 2002.  Kevin was also a share holder and member of the Board of Directors of Bea-Ver Communications which owned CKSY.  His contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the bowling leagues were widely recognized by the community.

But his real passion was statistics.  Hence, his nickname “STATSMAN”.  Kevin was know for organizing and running sports pools.  He was a race horse owner and loved the thrill of the track.  He was an extremely dedicated statistician for the Chatham Jr. Maroons and Chatham Micmac Hockey Clubs from 1983 to 1993 then becoming the league statistician for the Western Jr. B. Hockey League.  Kevin rarely missed a Maroons home game and never hesitated to travel to out of town games when he was available.

Kevin was an enthusiastic sports fan; especially Red Wing and Maroon hockey!  He was a baseball pitcher, 10 pin bowler and an avid golfer.  He took organ lessons as a boy, and as an adult played the piano.  Kevin was a sports memorabilia collector, especially hockey cards.

His favourite get away from Chatham was the family cottage on the French River where he loved to spend family time.
