Brian was born in Chatham to  parents Marg and Al Bennett, in September, 1963 and a brother to Jayme, Mike and Rob.  As a youngster Brian was an active participant in Chatham Minor Hockey and Minor Baseball as well as becoming an enthusiastic golfer by the age of 12.  During his high school career he was a member of the legendary John McGregror High School football program.  He was a two time winner of the Robinson/Bruette trophy for dedication to sports at JMSS. 

In 1978 his love of athletics steered him towards his current vocation as the Facility Operator at Chatham’s Memorial Arena.  This in turn led him to his association with the Maroons.  Starting as an assistant trainer for the Chatham Micmacs Hockey Club he then took on the same job with the professional Chatham Wheels Hockey Club during its stay in the city.  In 1996 he became the head trainer for the Junior Maroons and has been there ever since.

Brian is one to stay actively involved in various sports such as the Maple City Slo-Pitch League and the Chatham Maroon Old-Timers Hockey Team.  But he is also a strong member of groups such as the Jr. Maroon Executive, Chatham Wish Hall of Fame, Friends of Rotary Park and Fergie  Jenkins Field, Friends of  JayCee Tyke Parkand the JMSS Football Alumni. 

His many contributions and much hard work has been recognized by organizations such as Chatham Figure Skating Club, Chatham Minor Baseball, Chatham Girls Fastball, Maple City SloPitch and the Maroon Old-Timers.
